Density

OELCHECK test instrument: Anton Paar density meter DMA 4500 and sample changer
Sample volume: 15 ml
Unit: kg/m³
Test result: density at 15 °C
density temperature profile between +10 °C and +90 °C (at intervals of 10 °C)
Analysis for: density:
bio oils, coolants, fuels and for oils whose viscosity is converted from dynamic to kinematic

density temperature profile:
lubricating oils and hydraulic fluids
Brief description: The sample fluid is drawn into a tempered U-tube to determine its density. After filling, oscillation is initiated. The change in the oscillation frequency of the empty and filled U-tube, which is proportional to the density, can be used to calculate the density based on temperature. The density is measured at a temperature of 15 °C as standard. However, a density temperature profile between 10 °C and 90 °C at intervals of 10 °C can also be created.
Statement: Density is an indicator of a mixture of bio oil and mineral oil, for example. The density is required for conversion from dynamic to kinematic viscosity or to calculate volumes with a known weight. The density temperature profile is the basis of many fluid mechanics and thermodynamic calculations. It is often used in conjunction with the viscosity temperature profile to determine the temperature profile of kinematic viscosity.
Underlying test standard: DIN EN ISO 12185, DIN 51757, ASTM D4052, ASTM D5931
